2022 Updates

Moved To WordPress With Some Updates!

I have finally moved this blog to WordPress!

How does it look? 🙂

I meant to do this a long time ago. After all, I moved my other blog, The Literary Lioness, FIVE years ago.

But I didn’t move this one, because I really thought that I wasn’t going to blog on it anymore.

However, I really missed this place.

When I decided to post on this blog again, I knew it was only a matter of time before I moved it to WordPress. 

I struggled to move the other blog because I knew absolutely nothing about WordPress and made many mistakes. 

So I admit that procrastinated because I really feared making those same mistakes.

Before I moved the blog, I thoroughly went through every single post.  I hadn’t read some of them in YEARS. 

Some were absolutely terrible with no way to salvage them, so I deleted them.

All of the remaining posts had to be reformatted to conform to WordPress and to best SEO practices. I use RankMath for my SEO plugin.

I also had to format everything to the notorious WordPress Block Editor. I have gotten used to writing new posts on it, but it is a PITA to reformat OLD posts on the Block Editor.

I had to shorten some of the URLs for best SEO practices. This led to many 404s, but I am now very familiar with the Redirection plugin.

I also separated the Blogger Labels into Categories and Tags. That is still a Work In Progress.

I also checked all links to see if they still worked and if there were any UPDATES that I could add!

Yes, I DID MY RESEARCH. My eyes are OPEN.

I found out that there were many updates.

Added a 2022 update. The New Yorker has a mini-documentary about the man who runs this place!

Greystone Psychiatric Hospital

Added a 2022 update. This is the place where an unknown Bob Dylan visited Woody Guthrie, who was a patient there at the time.

When I wrote this post, state officials were planning to demolish the building. What happened next?
